Moving Out of Smallwood
Everything you need to know when moving out of Smallwood

Security Deposit Information: Please be aware that by law we have forty five (45) days to give you an account of the charges or deductions that were made against the deposit we have on file. You will receive your statement and/or refund check within this time frame. We do ask for a good forwarding address at the move out inspection in order to mail this paperwork. One check will be issued and all tenants are notified of who the check was sent to.

Utilities: Please note that you are responsible to keep the electric service in your name until the lease ends. Also, you must phone Cinergy (800-521-2232) and notify them of your lease end date and give them instruction to disconnect the service from your name on that date.

Removal of personal items upon move out: Please note you must remove all items from your unit before the move out inspection, including trash. If belongings or trash are left in the unit, there are costs associated with this that will be taken out of the security deposit.

Mail: Please put in a forwarding address with the post office. You can go online to do this or you may experience delays in your mail catching up to you. We also have forwarding address cards in the office.

Cable Upgrades: You should phone the cable company (Comcast – 812-332-9486) and cancel any upgrades that you were being billed for.

Account Balances: Please check with our office to make sure that your account is current. If there are unpaid charges on the account, they will be deducted from the security deposit on file.

General Information: Double-check your move out date, call the office if you are not sure. You will receive official notification of your move out inspection time. We highly encourage you to be present.

You will receive notification of your loading dock time. If there are changes that need to be made to this time, please phone the office as soon as possible to make this request.

We do have carts that are available for use on a first-come basis. Please check with the office for availability of these carts.

You will receive notification of your loading dock time, if you have requested one from the office.

If you have not already requested a dock time and desire one for moving, please do this as soon as possible.

Please make sure to leave all of your keys in the apartment before you leave.
